When in Rishikesh city and visiting temples, always dress modestly. Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended. India is home to many sacred sites, so it’s customary to remove your footwear before entering a temple as a sign of humility and respect. Carrying a shawl to cover your shoulders is also recommended. In Sikh temples (places of worship), both men and women must cover their heads.
When at the resort, however, you will be able to wear your yoga leggings as normal for practice.
Don’t be nervous about your wardrobe – we’ll take you to the markets where you can find great modest clothes, including appropriate saris. Don’t stress if you don’t have everything upon arrival; we’ve got you covered. Relax and get ready for an incredible journey!
