With a deep belief in the healing power of movement and sound, Heidi believes we can weave our way through space with the vibratory energy we create and a beautiful sense of fluidity and expression that is profoundly unique to the body we reside in. With a deep love of Kirtan and the Sanskrit language, Heidi regards the vibration and frequency of sound as some of the best medicine for the body, mind and spirit.

As an ex dancer and choreographer, movement has held an integral space in Heidi’s journey and after many years of teaching dance and moving bodies, she has witnessed deep shifts in sometimes the most subtle of movements. Her love for the human body, the way it moves and the potential we have to unlock the deepest parts within, through devotion to the practice shows in her teachings and her life.

Heidi has completed over 1000 hours of training with many incredible teachers and change makers including Les Leventhal, Lorin Roche Phd, Christopher Hareesh Wallis, Yoga Rupa Rod Stryker, Allannah Kaivalya and Sarah Powers. Her teachings infuse all of these incredible teachers with her own experiences of embodiment and love of the practice.

Monica has been teaching yin yoga for over a decade. Monica‘s personal love for yin yoga sprouted from her meditation practice as she discovered the subtle body through being still inside of poses. Monica teaches somatic-meditation in her classes and leads her students through a journey through the elemental being, the organs and Daoist maps of energy fields. As a Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner, Monica shares authentic teachings of meridian theory, as well as anatomy, fascia and tune up. Monica waves these  modalities together for a full body, mind, spirit journey inward towards the mystical and healing space of yin. On this training Monica will guide you through Yin and Yoga Tune Up practices as well as facilitating modules on fascia, Yoga Tune Up, Qi and meridian theory.

Why everyone loves our training course

“I have a confession. I’m a Yin addict. Like in a completely head over heels kind of way. But I didn’t always love this beautifully restorative and healing practice; in fact I absolutely loathed it! Prior to completing my training at Warrior One, I had only participated in a handful of Yin classes and found the slow pace incredibly frustrating and boring. My mind would wander terribly and I just didn’t ‘get it’. As a yoga teacher myself, I much preferred a sweaty vinyasa practice because I thought that was what my body needed. Little did I know that what my body, mind and soul was actually craving was to slow down and be still.
Undertaking my Yin training at Warrior One under the supportive and inspiring guidance of Dustin and Monica has been a wonderful gift and completely life changing. Not only was the training comprehensive, full to the brim with up to date research and traditional teachings, practical techniques, and loads of creative and intuitive sequences that can be used straightaway, it was also incredibly nuturing for the soul, restorative and blissfully relaxing. Just like being on a 3 day urban retreat! Monica and Dustin’s passion for Yin is infectious and they are wonderful examples of ‘The Teacher’s Teacher’ – so generous with their expertise and knowledge as well as their genuine care and compassion for their students. Thanks to them, I now have a much deeper understanding of the bigger picture and feel like I have a much more balanced and contented way of being. I would highly recommend this training to yoga teachers wishing to expand their teaching repertoire and also to students of all levels who are wanting to find out more about the hows and whys of this magic practice. – Cassie

“Warrior One’s Yin training was exactly what I needed to feel confident and comfortable to teach yin, along side that it increased my love for the practice. The three days felt like a retreat like bubble deepening my understanding of fascia, meridians and the overall magic of yin. Dustin and Monica are caring and passionate teachers with so much knowledge to share. I would definitely recommend this training to anyone with an interest in Yin.” – Marie

This yin yoga teacher training was so beneficial to me to deepen my yoga practice and my knowledge as a yoga teacher. Dustin and Monica have so much knowledge that they share with you freely and openly. I was already a yin-enthusiast to begin with but the training allowed me to delve deeper into the practice – it even encouraged me to start a Bachelors degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine!Jess
