A Few of Our Favourite Things to do in Mordialloc

If you haven’t already heard the exciting news – we’re opening up another yogi home in the heart of Mordialloc. And what better. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to eat, drink, and explore so that we could bring you some of our favourite things to do in this seaside town. Before or after a yoga class, of course.

Drink a Blueberry Heaven Smoothie at Main Street.

Remember Blue Heaven milkshakes? This is kind of like that, but really good for you. And tastes even better. This smoothie is packed with mixed berries, beetroot, mint, coconut water, and vanilla bean protein powder.

Now, you don’t have to be in the market for a blue smoothie to visit Main Street. These guys have you covered with a full food menu that moves from breakfast to lunch all the way to dinner. For breakfast you might go for the Soul Bowl, which is filled with couscous, snow pea leaves, grapes, walnuts, dried cranberries, bocconcini, avocado, and eggs, or something more familiar like the smashed avocado served on a bagel with feta and dukkah. Lunch or dinner might be anything from Thai meatballs, a summer salad, a burger, or a bowl of gnocchi.

Get the heart rate pumping running the coastline.

One of the major benefits of a coastal town is that it makes running a little easier. The cool air, the beautiful view, the crashing waves. They can all help you forget about how hard you’re working. As the coastline winds around, you can really pick your pace and your distance making it great for all levels.  If you really want to kick things up, have a go at running on the sand.

Burgers, shakes, and fries at YOMG Bugers.

YOMG serves up some pretty drool worthy options. Whether you’re staying traditional with a beef burger, double cheese, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and special sauce, or going for something less traditional like the vegetable fritter served with vegan cheese, salad, onion, fried sweet potato, ketchup, tofu mayo, on a beetroot bun, you’re going to leave happy. But before you leave we suggest trying some of their loaded fries. And of course a shake too. You can go original – chocolate, blue heaven, caramel etc. Or a little indulgent like the salted peanut butter caramel. And you can even go healthy with the matcha green tea shake. There really is something for everyone.

Dive head first into Teff Porridge at Hendriks Café.

Whether you’re post run or post yoga class, there’s nothing better than a big bowl of nutritious food. And Hendriks café really knows how to deliver. As the weather gets cooler, we’re reaching for the teff, chia, and oat porridge served with banana, pistachio, coconut crumble, and raspberries. If you’re into sweet things you can go for a plate of lamington French toast made from brioche. If savoury is more you, the wild mushroom waffle served with poached eggs and jalapeno salsa might be more your idea of a good morning. Or of course there’s avo with whipped ricotta and lemon myrtle dukkah on grain toast.

Take a sunset stroll along the Mordialloc Pier.

This one takes little explaining. A balmy night, the water in front of you, the sky changing colours by the minute. What better way to watch the sun set than by the water? BYO snacks to really step this one up a notch.

Share a feast at Bang Bang.

When delicious Hawker style street food comes to Mordialloc, you go. Immediately. This menu is designed to share with lots catering to those of us who don’t eat gluten, dairy or meat. Small plates start with spicy Korean fried wings (gluten free available, friends), roti wraps, crispy fried eggplant, and gyoza. Larger plates see Crispy skin barramundi, Bang Bang chicken salad, and the pea and paneer Curry. Plus there’s a whole bao menu. Cocktails, craft beers, wines, and sake make for a good drinks list. And the space really offers whatever vibe you’re looking for. A seat at the bar for good banter, a seat at the window for people watching, or a booth with friends.

Sip a glass of wine at Mordialloc Cellar Door.

After the sun has set on yet another day, why not head to Mordialloc Cellar Door for a glass (or two?) of wine with friends. And these guys encourage you to get food from the nearby restaurants and bring it with you. Dinner sorted as well.
